Kickbase’s point system, with over 95 rated in-game actions, is the heart of the manager experience.
You’ll find a complete overview with definitions in the Kickbase Points Table.

These actions are tracked live by professional analysts from our data provider Stats Perform (formerly Opta), with whom we maintain close communication throughout each matchday.
Occasional inaccuracies can happen in the heat of the moment – that’s why we ask for your patience until final points are confirmed the day after the last match of the gameweek.

Our ratings are data-driven, not based on journalistic opinions or editorial grades from other platforms. We only align with official league statistics in specific cases for key events (like goals or assists).

📊 How Does a Match Get Analyzed?

Each match is covered live by:

  • 2 trained analysts, each responsible for one team

  • 1 checker, reviewing and correcting inconsistencies in real time

  • 1 supervisor, who steps in on tough calls and ensures quality across 3–4 games

  • 1 post-match analyst, reviewing the game again after full time

  • A weekly review team, rechecking complex or disputed scenes

Analysts log every event (e.g., shots, passes, throw-ins) using a standard keyboard, referencing player shirt numbers.
Each match produces 1,600–1,900 events, enriched with over 350 detailed qualifiers, such as:

  • Type of pass (foot/head, long/short)

  • Assist vs. deflected assist

  • Coordinates of start and end points

  • Big chance created

  • Touch location and much more

Mouse input is used to manually mark coordinates and qualifiers on a visual pitch view. This complexity is why we often ask for your understanding of human error, especially when evaluating fast or ambiguous in-game moments.

🔁 How Do Corrections Work – and When?

Corrections can happen at several stages:

  • Live by analysts, checkers, or supervisors

  • Post-match via in-depth review (within 24h for top leagues)

  • Before final scoring after the last match of the gameweek

Corrections are visible in the app only after being processed through Stats Perform’s system. Sometimes they show up within seconds, other times with a slight delay depending on complexity.

Each week, we hold a final review session with Stats Perform, where we discuss:

  • Scenes flagged by our team or the community

  • Misjudged or missing events

  • Edge cases and corner scenarios

Once final scoring is locked in the app, no further changes can be made.

🔍 Special Cases in Data Interpretation

Some key differences across leagues:

  • In Bundesliga & 2. Bundesliga, goals and assists follow official league statistics

  • In LaLiga, goals are also based on league stats, but assists are rated by Stats Perform

  • For own goals, German and Spanish systems differ slightly. In Germany, Stats Perform fully aligns with league data; in Spain, initial assessment is Stats Perform-based, but may be reviewed afterward if it diverges from the official match report.

While this can occasionally lead to different interpretations for the same event between leagues, within each league the rules are strictly applied for consistent ratings.
