I placed a bid but didn’t get the player – why?
You placed a bid but didn’t receive the player? That can be due to market value, a higher competing bid, or squad limits. Here are the most common reasons – and what you can do in each case:
1. You had the highest bid but still didn’t get the player?
In most cases, this happens for one of two reasons:
-
The transfer would have caused you to exceed the limit of players from the same club
-
Or: your squad size would have exceeded the allowed maximum
In both cases, your bid is automatically rejected – even if no other manager placed a bid or their bid was lower.
Important:
You won't get the player, even with the highest bid, if accepting the transfer would violate any squad rules.
The player will go to another manager whose bid doesn't violate those limits – even if it's lower.
This is intentional game design, not a bug.
Tip:
-
Check how many players from each club you already have before the transfer deadline
-
Be mindful of your squad size and overlapping bids
2. You were outbid
Another manager simply placed a higher bid and won the player.
Tip:
For popular players, it’s worth placing a bold and competitive offer from the start.
3. Your bid was below market value
Even if no other manager bid, your offer can still be rejected if it's below the player's current market value.
Good to know:
-
Market values update daily around 10:00 PM
-
What matters is the market value at the time the transfer is processed, not when you placed your bid
-
A bid that was above market value when placed can become too low if the value increases later
Tip:
To be safe, always bid at least the current market value.
